The islands of Peninsula of Yucatan
Let try itself by a small escapade or an extension on one of the islands of Riviera Maya or the northern coast of Yucatan! Each one of these 3 islands has particular characteristics which will be able to satisfy and delight most demanding by travellers.

Isla Mujeres : located at only 15 mn by boat from Cancun, (in ferry with regular connections from Puerto Juarez, or by private yacht of hotel you booked), this island is a haven of peace for those seeking calm after the swirl of Cancun. The ryhtm is slackened there and the landscape, fairy-like with its white sandy beaches bathed by crystalline water. Isla Mujeres owes its name to Captain Cordoba who arrived there in 1517 looking for slaves to work in the Cuban mines.
This island then was a center of worships for the goddesses Ixchel,Ixhunie etc… and the Spaniards discovering a multitude of idols of nude women to the chest, gave it he name of Isla Mujeres.
To summarize, Isla Mujeres is famous for its idleness, its very beautiful beaches and its proximity with Cancun which facilitates access of them. To visit : the aquatic national park El Garrafon , Playa Norte (splendid and still ), the temple of the Ixchel goddess. To do: swim with dolphins (several programs suggested), make the tour of the island on a golf cart or scooter, taste Tikin Chink fish. Our recommendation: you will strongly appreciate 2 or 3 nights upon your arrival in Mexico at Isla Mujeres ( for instance: at charming hotel Na Balam, at Playa Media Luna hotel or Casa de Los Sueños spa ) to relax and to peacefully begin your discovery of the Yucatan peninsula.

Isla Holbox : located at the north of the state of Quintana Roo, at approximately 3 hours from Cancun (2h30 by road from Cancun to Chiquila then 30 mn by boat to join this island either by ferry or by one of the small boats belonging to the hotels). Isla Holbox, small island of fishermen (40 km length on 2 km broad) is a paradise for passionate nature lovers.Ideal to play Robinson Crusoë, to discover the softness of Caribbean living and to explore an exceptional fauna installed on island. To discover: birds’ island (true natural refuge sheltering more than 2000 birds of all species), to observe one of the largest pink Flemish colonies, superb Yalahau Cenote, and to make snorkeling (fish multitudes, lines mantas, tortoises and also the sharks whales from June to August.) Our recommendations: If you are looking for a place still little attended and if you wish to forget the time of a few nights the stress, this place is made for you. The eco-tourist lodges Xaloc or Villa Delfines will make your stay simply unforgettable.

Isla Cozumel : located just in front of Playa del Carmen and accessible in ferry by regular connection, the island (54 km length on 14 km wide) is the strong hold of the tour operators specialists in the diving and the privileged port for the cruises coming from the United States. Between Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, the coral reefs are considered as being the most beautiful of the world after the Australian coral barrier. But on the other hand, there is almost no white sandy beach. Our recommendation: if you are passionate by the diving, Cozumel will be a paradise for you but you don’t, you will surely get bored.. To visit: the Chankanaab national park, the museum of Cozumel, ruins of San Gervasio., the reef coralline of Palancar (overdraft by J.C Cousteau, in the south-west of this island).
